| Brief history of
the "Granarone" (i.e. "the large grain silo")
The grain store in
Calcata where the Association is located has been constructed in 1632
and in the early years it was called "Monte Frumentario".
Some years later the name "Granarone" appeared in documents
of the Vatican, which name has been maintained until now. It has been
used as grain storage until 1950, after which it was abandoned, as was
most of the old center of Calcata. |
